Project Coordinator & Illustrator, California Department of Public Health (2004-2009)

First to respond to high priority information related to CA health, and increasing product interest 80% through material redesign. Successful rebranding led to the development of a department solely dedicated to graphic design.

  • Design and delivery of image-rich PowerPoint presentations focusing on national health issues
  • Assist in annual meetings attended by over 500 individuals by drafting necessary materials
  • Effective in answering a variety of health concerns through email newsletters, phone interviews, public outreach and website updates

Since starting in 2003 as a part time contributor, demand for my writing increased exponentially, resulting in a highlighted weekly column, title as editor, and requests to allow the printing of my work in a variety of publications.

Helped rebrand the company by redesigning their extensive product price list, brochures, various magazine ads for print, email blasts etc. Also assisted the sales team with copywriting and last minute edits to marketing materials meant to promote high-end bathroom furniture and fixtures to vendors.

Independent design of 2-D characters- including their backstories and biological characteristics-for individual sale at local art shows and online. Currently determining whether to eventually publish a book as per dozens of requests.
